It is almost impossible to find someone who has not seen a youtube video, tweeted, or posted on facebook. In 2017, 71 percent of internet users were social network users and these figures are expected to grow. North America ranks first among regions where social media is highly popular, with a social media penetration rate of 66 percent. In 2016, more than 81 percent of the United States population had a social media profile (Statista). Social networks not only enable users to communicate beyond local or social boundaries, but also offer possibilities to share user generated content like photos and videos and features such as social games. Social advertising and social gaming are two major points of revenue for social networks.

3. Sharing Is on The Rise
The biggest trend in todays culture is the sharing of information. Sharing is a behavior that is engraved deep in our culture. Every wave of technology creates ways to share faster, cheaper, and easier. Today we have thousands of new methods to share our message, information, causes, opinions, and ideas with the world. Anyone armed with a mobile device has the power to share anything to the world within seconds.
